• Alex is an Architectural Associate with over 11+ years of practicing large multifamily and commercial projects across the eastern seaboard. He has significant experience in project management, concept development, business operations, and all technical phases of the architectural process. He is particularly adept in concept design and programming of multifamily buildings.

He is passionate about cities and enjoys the challenge of distilling a building’s complex requirements into a harmonized concept and narrative.

  • In his spare time, Alex is an avid photographer. He shoots street, architecture, and portraiture photography. The rhythm of cities and their inhabitants inspire him. Common themes exist between his architecture and photography work; specifically: context, scale, and documenting the "everyday event".

  • In 2011, Alex received his degree from Clemson University, South Carolina. In 2009, he studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain, concentrating in a study of urban planning. In 2010, he studied urban development and explored planning incentives in the Gowanus Canal neighborhood, NY. Alex also completed additional coursework in finance at the University of South Carolina (Darla Moore School of Business).

Alex Tomlinson is an architect and photographer in New York, NY. He is passionate about cities and believes the best buildings have conversations with their neighbors.
